Projects
I have multiple garden beds around the property that I’m working on at the moment. More to come here soon as I have time to photograph and take notes on each of them.
The Fern Meadow
This area was overtaken by Hay-scented Fern and Common Jewelweed (which I left here in a bucket years ago and considered a failed transplant project at the time). I am curating the plants that grow here and letting it fill in along the crushed stone path next to the garage.

This patch gets morning sun from the east followed by afternoon shade from the house.

This area stays moist and is on the higher side of the drainage area. It does not flood.

This area was completely trampled last season when the siding was redone, but it has nearly come back to its previous condition with how prolific the Hay-Scented Fern is. I believe the problematic plant I keep pulling here is considered Hempnettle. Others include Japanese Stiltgrass, remaining turf grasses, and Gooseneck Loosestrife that took over one of the front gardens before I removed it. A few shoots from the trees keep popping up, but are manageable.
